Amalia curated the original, authentic Italian menu for Osteria Stella when they first opened their doors. Today, she shares her passion for genuine Italian food and culture right here in Knoxville through her business, Ama.mi.kitchen, offering hands-on pasta classes and unforgettable private dinners.

Where the Gulf of Mexico meets the Atlantic Ocean and the nation’s longest coral reef, Captain Rick Stanczyk will be your fishing guide for the day. The captain will host you on his 25’ Contender Bay Boat with a trolling motor and the latest electronics including 10 ft power poles, advanced live scope, and side scan imaging sonar. He is native to the Florida Keys and a second-generation fishing captain. His family has owned the world-famous Bud n’ Mary’s Marina, a mecca in the sportfishing community, since 1978. Captain Rick’s passion and claim to fame for the past 16 years has been Tarpon but he is also known for a love of all fish, his vast knowledge, showing his clients new tricks, and having fun on the water. Bud n’ Mary’s will also house your party of up to six guests while on Islamorada. Offerings include multiple houseboats, cottages, and hotel rooms all located at the marina.

This mind-boggling inter-genus hybrid, from the hardworking efforts of Dr. Tom Ranney of NCSU's Mountain Research Station, is a successful cross between a Franklinia and Gordonia lasianthus (Loblolly Bay), something that has been attempted unsuccessfully many time. It is semi-evergreen, dropping some of its leaves in the fall, but does have some red-orange fall color on the remaining leaves.  Matures to 20' tall and 15' wide. Does best when protected from direct afternoon sunlight. Morning sun with afternoon shade is preferred. Both parent species are native to the Southeast.
