Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum is not responsible for an injury or accident that may occur during my child's participation in Flora Friends. I understand by checking the “I agree” box below that I hereby release and hold harmless and covenant not to file suit against Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum, employees and any affiliated individuals (“releasees”) associated with my child's participation from any loss, liability or claims I may have arising out of my child's participation, including personal injury or damage suffered by my child, whether caused by falls, contact with participants, conditions of the facility, negligence of the releasees or otherwise.

Before You Arrive

Apply sunscreen and bug spray ahead of time.
Pack a rain jacket and warm layer (just in case).
Clearly label your child’s backpack, water bottle, jacket, and snack container.
Make sure your child is dressed for outdoor adventures across all kinds of terrain and in all kinds of weather.

What to Bring

A small, sturdy backpack containing a water bottle, a snack, and a rain jacket.
You may optionally choose to include a hat and warm layer in the bag.
Please do not bring toys from home.

Authorized Pick-Up

Any adult picking up your child from Flora Friends must be listed with your paperwork.
If you need to add any additional authorized adults, please email education@knoxgarden.org prior to class start time.
We will give you a pick-up tag—please bring it each time during pick up.

Health & Safety

Keep children home if they’re feeling sick, have a temperature at or above 100.4°F, have thrown up in the 24 hours prior to class time, have an unidentified rash, barking cough, or any other symptoms that would impact classmates.
If weather becomes unsafe to continue outdoor exploration, Flora Friends will move inside to continue the class in a sheltered space.
Children will have a chance to taste, touch, and smell appropriate plants. If you do not wish your child to experience plants in these ways, please email education@knoxgarden.org.
