Story Thyme
Our free, weekly preschool program features engaging stories, nature exploration, hands-on gardening, crafts and other activities that nurture the youngest gardeners and their grownups. Join us April through October every Tuesday, 10am-11am, for engaging stories, digging in the dirt, planting seeds, watering and harvesting. While Story Thyme is tailored to preschool-aged children, we welcome garden explorers of all ages (from babies to grandparents!). We begin with garden activities at the Every Child Outdoors (ECO) Garden, accessible via the entrance at 2649 Boyds Bridge Pike. You can also park up at the Visitor Center and follow the path away from Wimpole Ave down the hill to your right.
Members keep our beloved preschool program free for all. Show your support for Story Thyme by becoming a member today!
Thank you for sharing a little bit about your family so we can communicate updates about the program and learn who we serve. Please only submit this form once per year.
2025 STORY THYME REGISTRATION
Do you have a graduate of Story Thyme who is ready for the next stage of garden exploration?
We are excited to announce a new offering for 5-7 year-olds beginning Fall 2025:
This is an outdoor garden education program that will meet once per week, 9-11am, in the fall of 2025 (Mid August - Mid December)
This is a drop-off program. Parents will leave their child with a trained, background-checked Garden Educator at Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum each week.
There will be a planned snack time period and parents will be asked to send a healthy snack for their child.
Children will need to be prepared to be outside in lots of different kinds of weather.
The 16-week (4 month) program is designed to cumulatively build knowledge and garden agency with a cohort of approximately 15 children.
Sliding Scale Program Costs: $300 - $500 (can be paid upfront or in monthly installments)
