Join Board Member & Master Gardener Susan Kiss for an exploration of the garden landscape through the lens of pollination. Come learn about what makes a landscape prime for pollinators while you take a stroll through the gardens.
Tree Walk & Picnic Lunch
Join Board Member & former KBGA staff, Dan Steinhoff, on a special, extended tour of KBGA’s unique & historic tree collection. The group will stop to enjoy a bring your own picnic lunch at 11:30am, then continue on to see more of the remarkable trees across the property. Please bring water, a hat, and your picnic lunch!

Kokedama Workshop
Join Plant Curators for a hands-on class learning how to create a kokedama, using beautiful houseplants with unique foliage that thrive in your home year round. Participants will learn about kokedama maintenance and a bit about the Japanese art of kokedama. All materials will be provided and each participant will take home their own creation.

Spring Pollinator Walk
Join Board Member & Master Gardener Susan Kiss for an exploration of the garden landscape through the lens of pollination. Come learn about what makes a landscape prime for pollinators while you take a stroll through the gardens.
Perfectly Pressed Plants
Learn the long-standing practice of pressing plants for both artistic and scientific purposes and find out about the work being done by the University of Tennessee Herbarium. Participants will gain hands-on experience pressing plant specimens, learn how to mount pressed plants on paper for preservation, and go home with a mini specimen to display.
Community Yoga Class
Join KP in this inspired setting for an ALL LEVELS Hello Spring Yoga Flow! This class is donation base ($5 minimum per person) with all proceeds benefitting the gardens! Grab your friends and your mat and meet us to connect mind, body, and breath amongst the gorgeous backdrop of the Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum.
What to bring: A mat, a water bottle, and a friend!

Holiday Pies
Have you ever wanted to create your own pie but have been afraid to get started? Think making crust from scratch is more than you can handle?
In this hands-on pie making class, you will get to experience the fun of creating one double-crust fruit pie, just in time for the holidays. Kristin Webber, owner of Chicken Librarian, will walk you through the basics of making pie from scratch. She believes everyone can make pie! Dazzle your friends and family with a homemade, delicious dessert this holiday season.

Foraged Wreath Making
Join Kristin Webber, the Chicken Librarian, as she guides participants on a walk around the gardens to forage for plants and materials to make a festive holiday wreath. Kristin will not only show students how to create a wreath using found materials, but she will help them identify plants along the way. Each student will leave with one handmade wreath. Fall Festival
Our annual Fall Festival celebrates the end of the growing season with community dance and music performances, hands-on fall crafts and activities, and many local artists and nonprofits.
Bonsai Society Show
Come enjoy the marvels of nearly 50 Bonsai specimens on display. Vote for your favorite in the People’s Choice Award and bid on treasures in the silent auction. Pre-Bonsai trees and pottery from local artisans will be available for purchase. Event admission is free.

Baroque at the Botanicals
Let the sounds of the symphony guide you through the Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum as KSO musicians perform the music of Bach, Boccherini, and Pachelbel throughout the gardens. This fun, interactive concert is free and open to the public. No tickets are required. Lawn chairs, blankets, and walking shoes are encouraged.
Labor Day Sunflower Project
Every year individuals and organizations across Knoxville plant sunflower seeds, to grow flowers to harvest on Labor Day. Led by local artist and friend of the gardens, Gerry Moll, growers and participants weave thousands of flowers on a chain link substrate to create a massive circle built of flowers. Each sunflower represents the harvest of an individual's effort while the circle of sunflowers represents the sum of all of our efforts over the past year. Artists and musicians aid in the festival celebration. We hope you will join us for this wonderful, annual community event.
Botanical Sketching
Come explore our wildflower meadow through a short, guided sketching practice led by our friends at the Museum of Infinite Outcomes here in Parkridge.
Spring Plant Sale
Our Spring Plant Sale will be held on May 6th. We’re excited this year to have stock from several local and regional nurseries, including East Fork Nursery in Sevier County and Hoffman Nursery in North Carolina.
