Workshop Guidelines

Lifelong learning is an important part of the mission of the Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum. We host workshops, lectures and classes for people of all ages throughout the year. We also serve East Tennessee schoolchildren with environmental programs and educational opportunities. Classes and programs explore a broad array of garden-related topics, including wild plants, animals in the garden, health and wellness, sustainability, and garden and floral design.

To register for workshops or walks call Danielle at 865-862-8717 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information or to sign up. If you sign up by email, please include your phone number so someone can call you back if a walk or workshop is cancelled. Quick and easy pre-registration is required for all workshops. We may cancel classes the day before the scheduled time if we don’t have enough registrations before the class, so please call to sign up as soon as possible. Feel free to leave a message if you call outside of office hours, and a KBGA staff member will reserve your spot. Many workshops fill quickly, so it’s a good idea to call now!

Arboretum walks take place the last Friday of every month rain, snow or shine unless otherwise noted. Tours will cover approximately 2 miles of ground with some change of elevation and we often find ourselves off the beaten path so come prepared to hike. Photographs and note taking are encouraged. Walks are first-come, first-served, unless specified. All walks meet at the KBGA Visitor Center, unless otherwise specified. Walks are free though donations are always appreciated.
